Dear TYC Member
In response to the recent spread of Coronavirus to the UK, Twickenham Yacht Club requests members, visitors and staff to follow the recommended Government guidelines:
If you have recently returned from any of the high-risk areas listed* please follow UK Government advice of self-isolation for 14 days, after your return to UK. Please do not visit the Club during this time.
Furthermore, if you develop symptoms, such as a fever, cough, difficulty in breathing, we would politely ask that you do not to come to the Club until your symptoms have cleared, out of respect for your fellow members.
Please advise the Club** if you are diagnosed or have been in close proximity (2 metres for 15 minutes or more) to someone who has been diagnosed with Coronavirus and have recently visited the Club. ***
Practice safe hygiene measures, by washing your hands upon entry of the Clubhouse and regularly throughout your visit with provided antibacterial hand soap, use the Club’s hand sanitisers, cough and sneeze into tissues and immediately discard them in the bins provided.
Unless you are part of the catering team, please take care not to touch or handle any food other than your own; this includes single use of cocktail sticks and single dipping only into dipping foods.
Twickenham Yacht Club takes members health and wellbeing very seriously and therefore has produced a list of initiatives to minimise the risk of members, visitors or staff contracting the virus.
1. All those involved in food and drink preparation are taking extra hygiene precautions.
- There are changes to the way food is being prepared and shared at the clubhouse. Please keep an eye out for notices.
2. Hand sanitisers have been distributed around the Club for your use.
3. Hand washing instructions have been put in all toilet facilities.
4. Tables and other flat surfaces are being cleared, cleaned and sanitised regularly.
5. Door handles are being sanitised regularly.
We are monitoring the situation closely and we will keep you updated if and when the Government advice changes.
