The Committee and members of Twickenham Yacht Club were deeply saddened to hear of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The Queen, along with her husband Prince Philip, were enthusiastic supporters of sailing having been gifted the Dragon class racing yacht Bluebottle as a wedding present by Island Sailing Club in 1948 and maintained a long affinity with the sport.
The Club's flag will fly at half-mast until Her Majesty is laid to rest as a sign of our respect for Queen Elizabeth II's remarkable life, and her dedication to 70 years of service - inspiring our nation. On 11th September a minute's silence will be held by Club members in tribute.
Our thoughts are with the family at this time.
Rest in peace HRH Queen Elizabeth.

I read the post about Queen Elizabeth II’s life and it reminded me that she was Britain’s longest‑serving monarch, reigning from 1952 until her death in 2022 and deeply involved in public service that shaped many nations. When I once struggled with my studies I used high school level course help to make sense of big history lessons like this and not feel lost. That taught me that patience and support make tough topics clearer.
