Thank you for visiting our website and for your interest in Twickenham Yacht Club. TYC has been part of the Twickenham Riverside for over 100 year, supporting on-water activities on the Thames. If you are interested in joining the Club and to begin the TYC Membership process, you just need to complete a Membership Application (PDF below) and then visit the Club with your application on at least two occasions to chat with TYC Committee Members and others to make sure that TYC would be a good fit for you. As a member-run Club, we encourage all members to help with the operation of the Club, participating in and supporting our on-water and social activities.
If you like what you see and experience, the next step is gathering the required Committee and member signatures on the Application Nomination form (PDF below). You will need to obtain the signature of Full members of at least one year’s standing to propose your membership and another Full member of at least one year’s standing to second it. During your subsequent visit to the Club, the application must be countersigned by two members of the TYC General Committee. Only two signatures are permitted per visit.
The Clubhouse is open on a Wednesday evening from 20:00pm and on a Sunday from 12:30 -4:30pm and there are members about either sailing or socialising at the Bar. We just ask that you sign the Visitor’s book at the top of the stairs to the Bar.
Once your application is completed and your Application fee paid (1/2 of the Annual Subscription fee), you will be invited to join an in-person brief interview at the Club or an online Zoom chat with several TYC Committee members. Your application will then be put forward for approval at the next Committee meeting (held the last Tuesday of each month. It is not necessary for you to attend.
